The new SunSource system actually powers the entire HVAC system AND can also help to power your home. It's the world's only solar powered home energy system, and it's a game-changer.
The system fully integrates solar power, harnessing the sun’s free and renewable energy to reduce the electricity used by the heat pump or air conditioning system, and to operate other devices in the home that consume electricity - such as lighting and appliances - when the system is not running. If the system generates more power than the home uses, the excess power is sent back to the utility company for a possible credit on the homeowner's utility bill. It's also expandable. Homeowners can start small with just one solar panel and expand the system over time to as many as 15 panels per outdoor HVAC unit.
How SunSource works to reduce your utility costs:
The solar modules harness the sun's energy to power the SunSource® Solar-Ready heat pump or air conditioner.
When the heat pump or air conditioner isn't running, the solar power can also operate other electrical devices in your home.
With net-metering, any surplus power goes back to the grid possibly entitling homeowner to a credit.
A communication module allows you to see the system status, energy production, and also shows the environmental benefits of using renewable energy for your home.
