This 1 bedroom + den, 2 bath condo in a multi-unit building (circa 1987) is located beside Princes Island Park, on the beautiful Bow River in downtown Calgary. Location, location, location – in close proximity to the river pathways and with the benefits of the downtown core – was perfect, however the owners wanted to revamp the 1100 sq ft standard builder’s unit. After living there almost a decade, it was time to modernize the tired worn finishes and update the look, feel and overall comfort of the condo.

This was a complete renovation to be sure. Everything from flooring, baseboards, casings, vanities, new sinks, fixtures and faucets were installed; as well as re-facing the kitchen cabinet fronts and details. Even a new California knock down ceiling was installed; a vast improvement over its original stipple. The renovation not only succeeded in aesthetic achievements, but it is even more so impressive in that the space appears as if it was double its actual square footage. Not surprisingly, the finished work was an industry-judged 2008 SAM Award Finalist.
