Dynamic Flow
Built in 1980, this 4 bedroom house with 3 baths (2 ensuites) has a pool and master suite wing. What the homeowners wanted was to open up the kitchen to the living areas. The old layout meant the kitchen was confined and cut off from the rest of the living space. In order to open up the entire area, some of the walls were removed (except for a structural post) and the designer used angles to provide views from the main sink and the cooktop to create a dynamic flow to the kitchen. The revamped kitchen is more efficient to cook in and there’s a seating area that allows guests to converse with the cook while dinner is being prepared. The resulting space has much more storage, counter space, light and connection to the living space.
