A 50s kitchen is completely transformed into a state-of-the-art open concept space. A new palette, in two warm tones, enhances the room with a dramatic effect – the elegant style is maintained by rich classic choices of cherry wood, square doors and custom crown molding. The cabinets are hand-crafted furniture quality and will stand the test of time. The cabinet lighting adds ambiance, another enriching quality, to the interior of all of the glass the cabinets.

The kitchen space was expanded by five feet, with the laundry room wall being removed to enlarge the kitchen and provide more space. This reflects the family's social lifestyle: the 'chefs' of the family can work together in the kitchen/living area, allowing multiple cooks. The space will accommodate a large number of guests comfortably during regular holiday gatherings, with plenty of room to spread out and mingle. A serving area with shelving and a microwave, outside the dining room, will assist with large dinner parties. To facilitate a natural flow from the kitchen into the dining area and living room, the two door stain colors are married by the bamboo stained rope inlay in the fireside crown molding that graces the top of all the cabinets throughout the room. Shelving and additional cabinets flank the fireplace to unite the two rooms while providing additional storage space. The new flooring through-out, as well as the green granite adds further texture and color that gives guests a calming and earthy feeling. The two rooms are now united and welcome you as you cross the threshold.
