Attic Stairs
from JNK Products
A hideaway in the attic is something that many children romanticize, but in this day and age, rarely get to experience, mostly because attics are now usually filled not with their grandmothers’ trousseaus, but insulation and electrical wiring. But for those who do manage to clear the space, accessing the heirlooms just got a lot easier with JNK Products’ Attic Stairs, a ladder-like stairway that folds in three parts into the ceiling to minimize bulkiness. An insulated door ensures that heat and cool air stays in the central part of the home, and treads on the stairs themselves make sure getting up and down is quick and smooth. Basement Sub Floor
I have collected a number of I Beams that I would like to turn on their side and use as a base for my sub-floor in the basement. I would lay down the beams so that there would be a space the same width as the beams between each beam laid down. I would then put a 5/8ths tongue and groove osb board on top. My Question is should I put a plastic barrier down first or don't worry about it? Also, I was going to use a PL 400 glue to secure the beams to the cement. My basement has never leaked water and was built in 1998. What is the best way to prepare the I beams and secure them to the floor? Read the answer »
