Skylight

Skylight
from Velux

Putting a spotlight in the middle of your room may sound like a project for the star of the show, but we all have those spaces in our house where we’d love to get more natural light. So for those places where a skylight can’t go, Velux created the Sun Tunnel Skylight, a tunnel installed through the attic that allows brilliant sunshine wherever you want it. Simple to install and reasonably priced, the Tunnel Skylights can add a whole new dimension to a bathroom or hallway. The skylights are available at the Home Depot, or visit the company’s website to find a dealer near you.

Basement Sub Floor
I have collected a number of I Beams that I would like to turn on their side and use as a base for my sub-floor in the basement. I would lay down the beams so that there would be a space the same width as the beams between each beam laid down. I would then put a 5/8ths tongue and groove osb board on top. My Question is should I put a plastic barrier down first or don't worry about it? Also, I was going to use a PL 400 glue to secure the beams to the cement. My basement has never leaked water and was built in 1998. What is the best way to prepare the I beams and secure them to the floor? Read the answer »
