Did you know that the Pandas of China live on the leaves of the bamboo plants? And, did you know that many people like yourself are living on the strength of bamboo floors, one of the most durable and beautiful floorings in the world? All around the world, bamboo is fast winning the hearts of hardwood floor lovers.

As a natural resource, bamboo is fast growing and easily renewable. Making it an environmentally friendly choice for flooring. With the issues of global warming being a topic on most people's minds these days, bamboo is a flooring choice that makes sense.

Anything that can be done with traditional hardwood floors, can also be done with bamboo. It comes in both solid and engineered floor planks. You can get tongue and groove or floating floors in bamboo styles and materials. Bamboo floors are also available in a variety of patterns. The patterns depend upon how the bamboo was cut.

Engineered with the grains offers a completely different look to the bamboo planks that are cut cross-grain. So, in addition to being plentiful, bamboo is also versatile. You could even choose to mix and match different cuts if you wanted a highly decorative flooring design.

Many people choose bamboo for their floors because they like the light blonde coloring. Natural bamboo gives a room a very bright and cheerful glow. But, bamboo is also available in stained colors as well. So, if you like the unique grain patterns of the bamboo floors, but want something darker ... not to worry.

Bamboo ready takes stains just like hard woods do. And just like hardwoods, bamboo will accept the stain colors differently depending on the bamboo it's self. So, you will get some variation in plank colors, but probably not quite as much as you get with woods. Bamboo also offers the same levels of durability as hardwoods do. It's not harder than hardwoods, but instead it's very similar in strength. Like hardwoods, you can scratch a bamboo floor if you hit it too hard or drag something too heavy across it.

So, you would treat bamboo with the same respect and care as you would a hardwood floor. Another great reason to go with bamboo as your flooring choice is the lower price point. You can get the same hardwood look in your flooring for a better price ... the same hardwood feel, for a better price. For many people, a lower price point is critical to being able to afford a good looking flooring like bamboo. With all the same benefits as hardwood flooring, bamboo has really taken a stronghold in the flooring market.
