This month’s featured home offers beautiful design elements everywhere you look and is carried out in order to offer pragmatic functions and meet the client’s needs.
What the Client Wants
"Our client is very unique,” says Fardid Biglar. “They are well-traveled and very resourceful. They wanted to import design ideas and features they liked in Europe as well as through their travels.” Unique fixtures and designs can be noticed everywhere in the home, from a genius kitchen design that utilizes space efficiently to Cumaru flooring finished with carnauba and bee’s wax.
Kitchen Before
“The original kitchen was your everyday builder’s kitchen right out of the early 1980s. It was small, ugly and boring. Our client wanted many features that would typically be found in much larger homes, including a large island, entertainment area and seating for eight.” Fardid explains that following conventional design rules would have not lead to an adequate layout. “The space was just too narrow.”
