The butler’s panty was not used and dated the entire room. The closed doors gave the room a dark and mysterious feel, and the homeowners wanted this space to be used for more than hidden, undesirable storage. We decided to open up the central point of the room up and give it more style. The area also needed to place its role in large meals that congregate in the dining room, right outside the kitchen.

The mantle and fireplace were be difficult obstacles. The 13-foot wall consisted of nothing but the fireplace, making the area seem cold and empty. The walls and floor were not level, but the room had so much potential. It wasn't currently a welcoming place to entertain or relax, but we planned to marry it to the kitchen with matching cabinetry that would make it more inviting.
