New was blended with old as state-of-the-art fixtures were selected. The high-efficiency heating system uses original restored cast-iron radiators. Energy efficiency dictated the use of automatic light switches, efficient gas fireplaces and windows. Natural stone was inlaid with hardwood flooring, including touches of slate, limestone and granite.
