Written by Mr. Rooter

It’s no secret that problems with your sewer line can get messy. But sewer line problems can remain your little secret even while the line from your house or building to the mainline connection is replaced.

With new trenchless replacement technology, a Mr. Rooter professional plumber can repair your sewer line without extensive digging in your yard, or tearing up walkways or driveways – in one day.

Trenchless technology meets all industry standards, eliminates root intrusion and stops sewage from seeping into the ground by either lining the old pipe or replacing it.

The first option is pipe relining. The old line is cleaned and then inspected with a camera that shows the image on a screen. Then we insert liner material – a combination of polyester needle felt tube and epoxy resin – which bonds and seals with the existing pipe. The line processes for three hours, and your sewer line is back in operation the same day.

The second option, pipe bursting, pulls a flexible, high density polyethylene pipe of the same size through the defective pipe. As the pipe advances, it breaks the old pipe pushing it into the surrounding soil, and the new pipe replaces the old. Only two holes are dug – the entrance and exit points – and we pull 10 feet of pipe per minute.

Trenchless technology is cost-effective and has a 30-year material and labor warranty.

Symptoms of sewer line problems include toilet and drain backup and odor or water on the ground. If several plumbing fixtures have problems, that means wastewater is not leaving the building properly. Also, if you detect a foul smell outside the building and/or water is seeping out of the ground in the suspected area of the septic system, you may have problems, even if there is no problem with the plumbing inside.
