When it comes to home renovations there is no better way to transform a room than adding sunlight. Natural light brings a warm, comfortable, healthy feel to a room that cannot be duplicated by any light bulb. The challenge occurs when you cannot add a skylight where you like and windows are not always the best answer. To solve this problem, many homeowners are turning to a new way to let the sunlight in: Sun Tunnel Skylights®.
Introduced in 2004, thousands of Canadians have brightened up their living space with a Sun Tunnel which start in price from as little as $259. Cost effective and efficient, Sun Tunnels work by capturing sunlight through a clear, weatherproof dome on the roof. The light then travels down through a highly reflective tube ending at a diffuser in the ceiling of the room. Sun Tunnels are a great way of letting light into your home to brighten up rooms such as hallways, laundry rooms, closets and bathrooms. An optional light kit in order to turn the Sun Tunnel into a light source at night. Various sizes from 10” up to 21” are available to help meet homeowner’s needs. They are also easy and straightforward to install taking about 2-3 hours. For those less willing to install as a DIY project, installation by a professional is quick and affordable.
