Styled after the Shaker elements of design aesthetics, this striking kitchen renovation is also a prime example of “Vancouverism” as it belongs to a condo in a landmark building in the Coal Harbour area of downtown Vancouver.

Certainly the busiest place in home for this family; used multiple times for many uses daily, it also saw up to 10 cooks at a time on a weekly basis. The new design was not only a complete update of dated components and finishes, the space was greatly increased to accommodate two island workstations, plentiful storage and even a sunny eating nook.

After 12 years, the family of this comfortable West coast contemporary home in Gordon Head decided to renovate their kitchen and bathrooms. The large 4500 sq ft house had an extremely generous eat-in kitchen with a walk out deck, but unfortunately, it was particularly awkward and ugly. Stripping the entire old kitchen to build it in a new design would transform the room into a place that was a pleasure to be in — full of light, space, and gorgeous garden views.

Blending the Old with the New. This kitchen is a beautiful example of transitional design at its best, by keeping the original island cabinets that were done in a traditional shaker style and then bringing in new modern glass and white matte painted cabinets from Merit Kitchens it is a seem less mix of the two styles.
