Repainting bathroom that has stripes

My bathroom currently has stripes on it. The stripes were created by putting masking tape on the wall then putting urethane over top of the masking tape. When you remove the tape you have a stripe. I am now repainting this room. Can I simply put primer overtop of the urethane and stripes or do I need to sand the walls first?

- sanding won't help. If you want lines not showing, you need to put a skim coat of plaster

- wanting to paint steel front door. not sure what color to use. did not want to go white. houae has beige/yellow siding
